Soda Bread

This month we are doing plenty of St. Patrick's Day projects. On the day that we thought our furnace was broken I decided to warm up the house with this Irish Soda Bread baking project. I learned a few things:
1. ALWAYS check the emergency switch for your oil burner. Take special notice if you are in the habit of cleaning smudgy switchplates with a magic eraser, thereby turning OFF the oil supply to your furnace.
2. Soda bread is basically an ENORMOUS SCONE and it is delicious.
3. The kids can measure!
4. Ben will eat anything off a spoon during a cooking project, even a disgusting mixture of raw flour and milk.
