Right near the Coolidge Bridge which connects Hadley to Northampton there is an entrance to the bike path and access to the river. We went down to the dock and the kids threw sticks in the water, watched the traffic on the bridge overhead, saw a few boats and a fisherman. Ben and Matt took a swim, Josh and I put our feet in the water. We all splashed a bit. Josh even got to see a dog, which despite all the things we did today was surely the highlight for him. Josh is one dog-crazy child. It was a really nice time. It tired us out.
