Dinosaur Museum

Today we visited the Springfield Quadrangle, otherwise known as "the Dinosaur Museum." There is a new exhibit, called "Hatching the Past," which is centered around dinosaur eggs. Josh was expecting to visit the previous dinosaur exhibit, which featured robotic dinosaurs that moved and roared. He was too disappointed to really enjoy this one.

The kids made crowns in the arts and crafts area, then we played outside for a bit, then went to the history museum and did kids' activities there. At 1 PM I decided to gamble on going to a children's performance that was being held, even though that is basically nap time. It was a two person theater company performing a show on the history of shoes. (I know, it was actually quite weird, but entertaining.)

Ben was completely captivated and probably would have stayed for the whole thing. He was BEAMING. When the audience clapped, he clapped too and looked over at me, as if to say, look at me doing the socially appropriate thing along with everyone else. Josh, however, was not as into the performance and he was starting to get disruptive after about 30 minutes so we took off.

There are a lot of puppet and theater shows scheduled there for this summer so I think it will be fun to bring Ben back for more experiences like this one. I am sure that Josh's attention span will get better over time.
